The ruling comes after the former trader\u00a0lost\u00a0an attempt to overturn his guilty finding last year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cHis conviction demonstrates clear and serious dishonesty and a lack of integrity,\u201d the FCA said in a statement Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Bermingham agreed to resolve the matter with the lifetime ban, the FCA said. A \u00a0lawyer who previously represented Bermingham at trial didn\u2019t immediately return a message seeking comment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The 2019 convictions of Bermingham and another trader\u00a0Carlo Palombo\u00a0were part of the U.K. Serious Fraud Office\u2019s probe into efforts to manipulate the Euro interbank offered rate, which is related to trillions of dollars worth of loans and derivatives.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Bloomberg) &#8212; A former\u00a0Barclays Plc\u00a0trader convicted of helping rig a key benchmark rate was banned from working in the finance industry for life.
